One of these horses is not like the other.

Since we are doing 2017 in pictures, herd are my favorites that I took in last year. Some are good photos. Others aren’t but I liked them anyway. Lots of cars, a handful of planes, a few bicycles, and some other stuff. And of course doggos. Yes, I captioned all of these.

Besides the lead image these are in chronological order.

Kinja'd!!!

We get pretty intense sunrises around here in January.

Kinja'd!!!

My 20 year old Trek still rocking the original American flag decal.

Kinja'd!!!

Unregistered work jeep on a ranch northwest of Austin.

Kinja'd!!!

Impromptu race in my office.

Kinja'd!!!

I smell Chick-fil-A! Taken in the drive through.

Kinja'd!!!

First blooms on the mountain laurels in late February.

Kinja'd!!!

I heart ball.

Kinja'd!!!

This is what happens when my wife is gone for the day.

Kinja'd!!!

Early march blossoms with some idiot’s white car in the background.

Kinja'd!!!

Walk around the block in March. The house on the left has two garages one is dedicated entirely to a first-generation Chevy C10.

Kinja'd!!!

Canon and Virgin. Quite the juxtaposition.

Kinja'd!!!

What are you doing in the USA?

Kinja'd!!!

Clean car in front of a blooming rose bush.

Kinja'd!!!

Hellcat in its natural habitat. Irony is the pump being out of service.

Kinja'd!!!

Neither of my cars have sun roof so while my Forester was getting it’s engine replacement I played with the one in the loaner Outback 3.6R Touring quite a bit.

Kinja'd!!!

This Series.Yellow is the sex. Only 500 of these were made and somehow this dealer had 2 of them.

Kinja'd!!!

Gotta buckle up the fragile cargo.

Kinja'd!!!

Snapped right as the light turned green. I think we all know what happened next.

Kinja'd!!!

Prickly pears in bloom brightened up the ride.

Kinja'd!!!

Driveway spider is a fan of boxer engines and all-wheel drive apparently.

Kinja'd!!!

Serenity found on a private campground that I was invited to by a friend who’s church had rented the place out and had extra room.

Kinja'd!!!

What did you say? No, you can’t have the couch back.

Kinja'd!!!

Mirror image.

Kinja'd!!!

Je suis en avion!

Kinja'd!!!

This car was made for roads like this. I don’t care if it didn’t have a V8 - having this for a few days was tons of fun.

Kinja'd!!!

A wild Tercel appears!

Kinja'd!!!

I fell half a mile before this and busted my face pretty bad, but managed to make it to end of the ride.

Kinja'd!!!

Dude driving an old Packard on Highway 151 like it was a totally normal thing to do.

Kinja'd!!!

Just liked the clouds in this photo.

Kinja'd!!!

Slug-dog.

Kinja'd!!!

Two things rarely seen.

Kinja'd!!!

Not exactly Svend levels of clean, but still looked pretty good in the sun.

Kinja'd!!!

Headlights. I was messing around a little with my SLR in the garage.

Kinja'd!!!

Little truck, big truck.

Kinja'd!!!

Doggo in back seat looking out the hatch somewhere near El Paso.

Kinja'd!!!

My Outback the Texas Canyon rest area on IH10 in Dragoon, AZ.

Kinja'd!!!

DeLorean DOTS in my neighborhood. I love the flag in the background. I wish I had rolled down my window to get rid of the reflections.

Kinja'd!!!

It was over 100 degrees out when I took this. I only saw one other person dumb enough to be out here in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, I was able to stay out of trouble.

Kinja'd!!!

Kitteh and birbs.

Kinja'd!!!

Rallycross on a farm near Austin.

Kinja'd!!!

Hon hon hon.

Kinja'd!!!

Carolina anole on my office window.

This thing was so damn fast.

Kinja'd!!!

The mustache and fangs are so stupid. I love them.

Kinja'd!!!

Went exploring.

Kinja'd!!!

Doggos went to the liquor store with me. Monster thinks some of it is for him. He is wrong.

Kinja'd!!!

Thought this might be my last flight on an MD-80.

Kinja'd!!!

Snapped this out the back window of my mom’s Impreza. Didn’t think much of it until I saw the moon had snuck in.

Kinja'd!!!

Clownshoe next to a tall building.

Kinja'd!!!

Riding the trolley. More places need streetcars.

Kinja'd!!!

Went to another ballgame. If you ever go to PNC make sure to get seats on the 3rd base side and go to a 7PM game so that the sun sets in the middle of the game.

Kinja'd!!!

Fireworks with downtown Pittsburgh in the background.

Kinja'd!!!

I was wrong about that other flight - wound up on another MD-80.

My buddy put MkIV Supra rims on his SC300.

Kinja'd!!!

I should play though The Crystal Skull again sometime soon.

Kinja'd!!!

This is one of top 2 or 3 favorite pictures of the year. I took this with an iPhone 7 and am still amazed I was able to get this close without spooking the butterfly.

Kinja'd!!!

Little car next to a minivan.

Kinja'd!!!

Scorpion vs. Gecko vs. Praying Mantis battle royale on the wall of my house.

Kinja'd!!!

Attack of the giant pumpkins!

Kinja'd!!!

My friend bought a new Outback.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Put new tires on my Raleigh.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

So what if it is a replica and not a real Model A - the skeletons in the back were absolutely hilarious.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Breakfast tacos for dinner.

Kinja'd!!!

I don’t like most Wrangler mods, but this CHMSL inside the spare is pretty cool.

Kinja'd!!!

Get to the choppa!

Kinja'd!!!

Lots of pumpkins.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Dirty Forester in need of a bath.

Kinja'd!!!

V-22 Osprey up in the sky.

Kinja'd!!!

Hot air balloons over Albuquerque.

Kinja'd!!!

Does Enterprise even rent anything besides black Rogues?

Excited to go for a hike.

Kinja'd!!!

Got my tree up on the deck right after Thanksgiving.

Kinja'd!!!

Dinosaur Park is southwest of Austin in Bastrop, TX. Basically some guy with a bunch of property covered it in dinosaur statues. Well worth the price of entry. This Jurassic Park homage Jeep was a highlight for me. It even had a current registration - I’d love to see it out on the road.

Kinja'd!!!

This tag made me laugh.

Kinja'd!!!

Rental Jetta that I had for a few days. It more fun than expected with the 1.4T.

Kinja'd!!!

Dream big little Twingo.

Kinja'd!!!

A filthy Prowler. This paint scheme is OEM. It is a limited edition called Black Tie.

Kinja'd!!!

Putting the roof rack to use for once.

Kinja'd!!!

Festive Deuce and a Half at a local holiday parade.

Kinja'd!!!

Just out for a drive for no good reason, temporarily mismatched wheels and all.

Kinja'd!!!

Loaner Impreza snuck in right before the end of the year. I really like the way the photos in the boneyard turned out.

Didn’t you say that the Chevy SS was owned by an elderly lady?

As for the Bimmer (about the third picture, in case you posted multiple) there’s a blue one that’s always on the UTSA campus. It has Mexican plates which is weird, since it clearly belongs to someone who works there.

The white 1-series did have Mexican tags. I forget what state, but IIRC it was Tamaulipas. We aren’t all that far from Mexico here so there are a fair amount of cars that are sold in Mexico but not the US that essentially live here. Mostly it seems like VW Clasicos but it can be more interesting stuff too. It’s not a stretch for someone who works at a university but has family/property in Tamaulipas or Neuvo León to keep their car registered at an address there and go back in the summer when school is out. Technically Bexar County wants cars that spend most of their time here registered here to collect the taxes but if it is a car that can’t actually be registered here due to import laws there isn’t much they can do about it.

Older not exactly elderly. I’d guess 55-65. Reminded me of my mom who would definitely daily an SS if given the chance.
